The hot new 2010 5 Series offers drivers a combination of luxury, sporty feel, and family-friendly safety. The technology for this year's model is, of course, more refined and improved since last year, if that's possible. Trim levels for the new 5 Series include the 528i, turbo-charged 535i, and powerful 550i. The 550i features a 360 hp 4.8-liter, 32-valve V-8 engine coupled with rear wheel drive. The 528i and 535i come with either rear wheel drive of xDrive all-wheel-drive, which feeds power to both axles as the situation requires and automatically adapts to the terrain you are driving on. The 528i comes with a 230 horsepower 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline 6-cylinder engine, while the 535i comes with a 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with twin-turbo technology and piezo direct injection, which bumps the horsepower up to 300. The excellent assortment of handling and braking features add to the 5 Series' appeal. Consumer Guide says, "The 5-Series' ride and handling combination is among the world's best." Aluminum double-pivot front suspension, front and rear subframes, and 4-link integral rear suspension help to cut down on vehicle weight. The 5 Series also has front and rear anti-roll stabilizer bars, twin-tube gas-pressure shock absorbers, and dynamic stability control, which can recognize the onset of a skid and quickly stabilize the vehicle. Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, Brake Drying, Brake Stand-by, and Dynamic Traction Control also come standard. The beautiful exterior of the 5 Series comes equipped with halogen free-form fog lights, power adjustable, heated, side-view mirrors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, stylish chrome line exterior trim, metallic paint, and automatic headlight control, which means that your headlights will come on automatically when it gets dark enough outside.
The seating features for the new 5 Series include 10-way power front seats with power head restraints and a memory system for the driver's seat, side-view mirrors, and steering wheel position. A dual center console compartment with a phone handset holder also comes standard. The audio system will have everyone grooving with an anti-theft AM/FM stereo, a CD player, an auxiliary audio input, 10 speakers, Auto-Store, an FM diversity antenna system, and MP3 capabilities.
Of course, the new 5 Series is brimming with new convenience features that will make driver and passengers happy. You'll appreciate a climate control system with automatic air recirculation and a micro-filter ventilation system (filter is replaceable). You'll also appreciate automatic tilt-down of the passenger'side-view mirror when the vehicle is in reverse, a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel with automatic tilt-up, and three power outlets. An impact sensor can protect you in the case of an accident by disconnecting the alternator from the battery, disconnecting the fuel pump and starter from the battery, turning on the hazard lights, turning on the interior lights and unlocking the doors. Additonally, the new 5 Series features Coded Driveaway Protection which constantly changes the electronic key/ignition code to prevent the engine from starting without the right key.

With this rear-wheel drive 528i Sedan trim you'll drive strong with a V6 3.0-liter engine. Additional features that come standard include leatherette upholstery, a fold-up rear seat center armrest, a 2-way power glass moonroof and a fully finished trunk with an interior trunk release. 
The 2010 528i xDrive comes with a 230 horsepower, 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline 6-cylinder engine with a composite magnesium/aluminum engine block, Valvetronic, and Double-VANOS steplessly variable valve timing (same engine as the 528i RWD). Hill descent control comes standard, as does the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which feeds power to both axles as the situation requires and automatically adapts to the terrain you are driving on.
With this 535i Sedan you'll get a 300-hp 3.0-liter V6 engine with piezo direct injection and a rear-wheel drive system. This trim comes complete with fantastic features like a 2-way power glass moonroof, a fully finished trunk with an interior trunk release, a fold-up rear seat center armrest, Xenon Adaptive Headlights and leatherette upholstery. 
Like its Rear Wheel Drive counterpart, the 2010 BMW 5 Series 535i xDrive AWD Sedan comes standard with V-Spoke Alloy Wheels, Xenon Adaptive Headlights, 2-way moonroof, and a turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. With the innovative xDrive all-wheel drive system, the 535i xDrive AWD Sedan is fully equipped to maintain smooth handling through difficult road and weather conditions. 
The new 535i xDrive Sports is a wagon that seats five and comes with xDrive all-wheel-drive, manual transmission, and a 300 horsepower 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline turbocharged 6-cylinder engine with twin-turbo technology, piezo direct injection, and Double-VANOS steplessly variable valve timing. The xDrive system has the balance and stability of rear-wheel-drive with the ability to subtly shift torque between the wheels to meet changing conditions. Hill Descent Control also comes standard. The fuel economy is 16/23 MPG city/highway.
