E.H. Harms is the designated shipping company. The cost of transportation, customs clearance and duty, and marine insurance is included in the purchase price of all BMWs sold under the European Delivery Program.

It will take approximately 6-8 weeks to the East coast and 8-10 weeks to the West Coast from drop off date for a car to arrive at your BMW center for final delivery. Only the spare tire, jack, and tools can be shipped with the car. It is recommended that the exterior of your vehicle is clean before you initiate shipment to U.S. You may want to visit a car wash prior to dropping off your car, especially if you have traveled long distances in Europe.

Your client advisor will notify you of your vehicle's arrival in the United States. After clearing customs, the BMW Vehicle Processing Center at the port of entry will inspect your car and install any applicable accessories. Your BMW will be inspected again upon arriving at your BMW center. The center's technicians will also install any optional accessories you wish to add to your new BMW. A personal attendant will brief the customer and answer all questions about the vehicle.

When is the BMW Welt delivery center open?

Your automobile will be registered and delivered with German tourist license plates. The plates are valid for the period indicated on the registration documents and license plates. Customs regulations restrict the use of tourist license plates for private purposes. The customer is responsible for complying with any local regulations and taxes that may apply. Registration cannot be renewed and cannot be extended once initiated. Tourist plates are valid only in Europe. When the car is shipped to the U.S., you must arrange to register your vehicle in your home state and pay state sales tax.

If you have ordered the Navigation System on your new BMW, Europe maps will be automatically loaded to the hard drive before you pick up your car at the BMW Welt and a navigation disk is not necessary.

Can I transfer my trip routes from my personal computer to the Navigation System?

The BMW Routes feature offered on the German BMW website is not available for the U.S. Market.
