NOTICE TO CONSUMER
As of July 1, 2001 automobile dealerships are required to provide notices to persons who maintain a customer relationship with the automobile dealership or are consumers of dealership services in compliance with the rules regarding the Privacy of Consumer Financial Information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (16 CFR 313).
Pursuant to the rules under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, business entities engaged in consumer financing and leasing of personal property (such as automobile dealers) are considered to be financial service providers and are thus required to provide written notice to customers and certain consumers regarding the disclosure of non-public personal information.
In our attempts to provide you with such services, and to administer our business, we collect non-public information from you about you; and with your authorization, from third parties such as consumer credit reporting agencies. We take seriously our commitment to responsibly manage the confidentiality of your non-public personal information.
We do not disclose, without our customers’ or consumers’ authorization, any non-public personal information about our past or present consumers or customers to any non-affiliated company or person except as permitted by law. Our manufacturer, BMW of North America for these purposes is considered by us to be an affiliated company. If we are authorized by our customer or consumer, we may disclose non-public personal information to unrelated third parties as permitted by law; such as banks, credit unions or finance companies in connection with credit, credit applications or the assignment of a lease or retail installment contract; to California Department of Motor Vehicles n connection with title and registration procedures as required by law and to vehicle manufacturers or warranty companies in connection with warranty or communication of pertinent product information; and independent survey companies which monitor our customer satisfaction inquiries.
We restrict access to non-public information about you to those employees of our dealership or affiliated companies who need to know the information in order to provide the services and products which you requested. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards which comply with Federal Regulations in order to guard your non-public personal information.
